This is a premium-quality print of Dance by Henri Matisse painted in 1912. Dance (La Danse) is an example of Matisse’s paintings after the colourful revolution of his Fauvism period. Dance was painted at the request of Russian businessman and art collector Sergei Shchukin, who bequeathed the large decorative panel to the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The composition of dancing figures is commonly recognised as a key point of Matisse’s career. We have a modern composition of this artwork, available to buy on our website here.
