What printer and inks do you use?
We print using Canon imagePROGRAF PRO large-format printers, chosen specifically for their exceptional colour accuracy, sharp detail, and consistency across both fine art and photographic work. These professional printers are paired with archival Canon LUCIA 12-colour pigment inks, a premium ink system designed to produce rich tonal depth, smooth gradients, and highly accurate colour reproduction, particularly in subtle shades and complex artwork. The 12-colour ink set allows for a much wider colour range than standard printing systems, helping us achieve deeper blacks, cleaner neutrals, and more natural transitions in everything from bold contemporary designs to delicate fine art prints. Just as importantly, these pigment-based inks are archival quality, meaning they are designed for long-term durability and excellent resistance to fading when properly displayed. We use one of the highest-quality professional printing systems available because it lets us produce artwork that looks impressive when you first receive it and keeps its depth, clarity, and colour integrity over time.
Is the artwork ready to hang?
Yes — stretched canvas, floating framed canvas, and framed prints arrive ready to hang straight on the wall. Please note that overseas orders, particularly to the US, may require fittings to be attached. They are included.
What happens if my print arrives damaged?

Do you offer custom sizes for your prints?
Yes, absolutely. We will be more than happy to create custom sizes for any of the artworks you see on the website. Feel free to contact us with the exact size you need, and we will provide a quote.
Am I able to come to your office to collect the artwork directly to save time and shipping
Absolutely, you are more than welcome to come to either of our facilities in Noosa, QLD, or Booragoo, Perth, WA. Please do, however, give us a call before coming so we can make sure someone is out front. We spend a lot of time out back around noisy machinery, so the front desk is not always manned.
Will I receive a proof for personalised art, and can I make changes
es — for all personalised artwork, we always send a digital proof before anything goes to print so you can see exactly how your design will look first. This gives you the chance to check wording, layout, colours, spelling, dates, locations or any other personal details before production begins. Proofs are usually sent within 48 hours of ordering, and very often much sooner, depending on the design and the time the order is placed. We know personalised artwork often carries important meaning, so we want customers to feel completely confident before the final print is produced. You are also very welcome to request changes once you receive the proof. In fact, we encourage it. If there is anything you would like adjusted, whether a small wording change or a more noticeable layout tweak, we encourage it. We continue refining the design until you are 100% happy with the result. Nothing is printed until you have approved the proof, which means you can order knowing there is still a chance to fine-tune the artwork before it is made.

More Information about the Artwork / Artist

Roy Lichtenstein’s Modern Painting with Iconic Column (1967) is a striking example of the artist’s engagement with both modernist abstraction and classical architectural elements. Created during the height of Lichtenstein’s exploration of formalism, this work exemplifies his ability to merge high and low art, employing his signature Ben-Day dots, bold outlines, and flat areas of colour. The composition features a fragmented column set against a geometric background, a juxtaposition that reflects Lichtenstein’s interest in both historical motifs and the visual language of contemporary mass media. The column itself, rendered in a stylised manner, references classical antiquity while simultaneously appearing almost cartoon-like, aligning with Lichtenstein’s Pop Art sensibilities.

The painting is part of a broader series in which Lichtenstein deconstructed and reinterpreted traditional artistic themes through a modern lens. While many of his earlier works were direct appropriations of comic book imagery, Modern Painting with Iconic Column signifies a shift towards engaging with art history, particularly the tension between classical ideals and modern abstraction. The composition is deliberately simplified, reducing complex architectural details to their most essential forms. This reductionist approach aligns with the aesthetics of Minimalism and Hard-Edge painting, movements that were gaining prominence in the 1960s. However, Lichtenstein’s use of commercial printing techniques and his characteristic graphic style differentiate his work from these movements, ensuring its distinct place within the broader art historical narrative.

A key aspect of the painting is Lichtenstein’s playful subversion of traditional artistic conventions. By incorporating an iconic column—typically associated with strength, stability, and the grandeur of classical architecture—into a composition that is distinctly flat and stylised, he challenges the viewer’s expectations. The inclusion of Ben-Day dots, a technique borrowed from commercial printing, adds an industrial, mass-produced quality to the image, further emphasising the contrast between classical heritage and modern visual culture. This approach reflects Lichtenstein’s broader artistic philosophy, in which he sought to blur the boundaries between fine art and popular imagery. Rather than simply celebrating classical motifs, he recontextualises them, inviting viewers to reconsider their significance in a contemporary world dominated by media and mass production.

Modern Painting with Iconic Column is emblematic of Lichtenstein’s later explorations into the nature of representation and artistic tradition. By the late 1960s, he had moved beyond direct comic book appropriations and was experimenting with a more refined, conceptual approach to image-making. This work, with its clean lines and carefully orchestrated composition, demonstrates his continued fascination with how images are constructed and perceived. It also serves as a commentary on the evolving role of classical imagery in modern art, highlighting the tension between historical reverence and contemporary reinterpretation. Through this painting, Lichtenstein offers a witty yet thoughtful reflection on the persistence of classical ideals in an era increasingly dominated by mechanised reproduction and popular culture.
