What printer and inks do you use?
We print using Canon imagePROGRAF PRO large-format printers, chosen specifically for their exceptional colour accuracy, sharp detail, and consistency across both fine art and photographic work. These professional printers are paired with archival Canon LUCIA 12-colour pigment inks, a premium ink system designed to produce rich tonal depth, smooth gradients, and highly accurate colour reproduction, particularly in subtle shades and complex artwork. The 12-colour ink set allows for a much wider colour range than standard printing systems, helping us achieve deeper blacks, cleaner neutrals, and more natural transitions in everything from bold contemporary designs to delicate fine art prints. Just as importantly, these pigment-based inks are archival quality, meaning they are designed for long-term durability and excellent resistance to fading when properly displayed. We use one of the highest-quality professional printing systems available because it lets us produce artwork that looks impressive when you first receive it and keeps its depth, clarity, and colour integrity over time.

Am I able to come to your office to collect the artwork directly to save time and shipping
Absolutely, you are more than welcome to come to either of our facilities in Noosa, QLD, or Booragoo, Perth, WA. Please do, however, give us a call before coming so we can make sure someone is out front. We spend a lot of time out back around noisy machinery, so the front desk is not always manned.
Will I receive a proof for personalised art, and can I make changes
es — for all personalised artwork, we always send a digital proof before anything goes to print so you can see exactly how your design will look first. This gives you the chance to check wording, layout, colours, spelling, dates, locations or any other personal details before production begins. Proofs are usually sent within 48 hours of ordering, and very often much sooner, depending on the design and the time the order is placed. We know personalised artwork often carries important meaning, so we want customers to feel completely confident before the final print is produced. You are also very welcome to request changes once you receive the proof. In fact, we encourage it. If there is anything you would like adjusted, whether a small wording change or a more noticeable layout tweak, we encourage it. We continue refining the design until you are 100% happy with the result. Nothing is printed until you have approved the proof, which means you can order knowing there is still a chance to fine-tune the artwork before it is made.

More Information about the Artwork / Artist

Andy Warhol, renowned for his fascination with consumer culture, celebrity, and mass production, was one of the leading figures in the Pop Art movement. His work often engaged with the overlap between high art and popular culture, and in the 1980s, Warhol expanded his thematic range to explore the emerging digital age. “Space Invaders,” a vibrant and pixelated artwork, is one of his pieces inspired by the iconic video game of the same name. While some art historians debate whether “Space Invaders” was an official Warhol creation or part of his studio’s broader experimentation, the piece reflects Warhol’s interest in the merging of technology with everyday life and his penchant for visual repetition, drawing from the aesthetics of early video games.

In this period, video games were quickly rising in popularity, capturing the imagination of young people and representing a new frontier in entertainment. Warhol saw in games like Space Invaders a form of contemporary iconography that paralleled his earlier works based on Campbell’s soup cans and Brillo boxes. The arcade game itself, introduced by the Japanese company Taito in 1978, was groundbreaking; its pixelated aliens and simple, repetitive gameplay format made it an instant cultural sensation. Warhol’s adaptation of the theme is both a nod to this modern digital movement and an artistic commentary on mass production. Like his Campbell’s Soup Cans, the “Space Invaders” piece captures the essence of something ubiquitous and commercial but adds layers of meaning that elevate it into the realm of fine art.

Warhol’s piece does more than merely mimic the aesthetic of video games; it emphasizes the pixelation, limited color palette, and repetitive structure inherent to the medium, thereby capturing the novelty of early digital graphics. His style, which included using silk-screening to create repeated images, worked perfectly to represent the repetitive visuals of the Space Invaders game. By focusing on digital alien invaders as subject matter, Warhol hinted at society’s fascination—and potential fears—about the rise of digital technology. The alien forms can be interpreted as symbols of a new “invasion” by technology into everyday life, an idea that was provocative and prescient at the dawn of the digital age. Through the lens of Pop Art, Warhol transforms these “invaders” into cultural icons, much as he had done with Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley.

Moreover, the piece also speaks to Warhol’s ability to continually adapt his art to the evolving landscape of popular culture. His interest in video games may have been influenced by his close relationship with the younger members of his studio, known as the Factory, who were immersed in the latest cultural trends. Warhol’s “Space Invaders” thus represents more than just a visual homage to a video game; it is a statement about the permeability of art and culture and the way new media can inspire and redefine traditional art forms. This work ultimately reflects Warhol’s understanding that, as society and technology change, so too does the definition of art itself. By embracing new cultural symbols like video games, Warhol reaffirmed his place as a visionary who could capture the zeitgeist in ways both familiar and strikingly new.
